Huawei Pura 80 Ultra Redefines Zoom with Stunning Telephoto Power

Chinese tech giant Huawei has just launched its latest flagship, the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra, packed with powerful camera features that push smartphone photography even further. While Huawei usually releases its phones only in China, this time its going global version enticing more people around the world to get a chance to experience what this new phone has to offer.

The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra comes with a bold camera setup that’s hard to miss. It features a powerful 50MP 1-inch RYYB main sensor, a 40MP ultrawide camera, and a 1.5MP spectral sensor that boosts color accuracy in your photos. But the real standout is the 50MP telephoto lens, the largest ever seen on a smartphone. It offers 3.7x optical zoom, and thanks to its motorized periscope design, it can reach an impressive 9.7x optical zoom without losing detail but its slightly lower than the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which had a 10x periscope zoom. However, Samsung used a much smaller camera sensor than the one on the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra.

The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra comes in two versions: the Chinese model includes 5G, satellite support, and runs on HarmonyOS 5.1, while the global version has 4G and uses EMUI 1.5. It offers up to 16GB RAM and a huge 1TB of storage. A handy new AI Smart Controls button gives quick access to tools like the camera and flashlight and even works as a fingerprint sensor. The global model features a 5,170mAh battery, slightly smaller than the Chinese version’s 5,700mAh, but both support fast 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.
